Four Care Dimensions Hospice Aides Recognized for Compassionate Care

Care Dimensions, the largest hospice and palliative care provider in Massachusetts, is proud to announce that four of its hospice aides are among the 10 winners of the annual Compassionate Service Award, presented by the Hamel-Lydon Chapel & Cremation Service of Massachusetts.

The Care Dimensions hospice aides honored are Melanie Anderson, Joachim Bagirirwa, Noemi Reynoso and senior hospice aide Georgia Stewart. All submitted short essays about why they work in health care and about their patients’ impact on their careers.

Melanie Anderson wrote: “Every one of my patients has had an impact on me, even if I cared for them for just one or two days. I remember each one and I carry their memory with me to my next patient.”

“My goal is always to go the extra mile for my patients,” said Noemi Reynoso. “My patients have more needs than anybody else does and I don't rush them. I take my time, so they feel comfortable during each step of the appointment.”

“I chose to work in the healthcare field to make a difference by caring for every patient with love, compassion, and dignity,” said Joachim Bagirirwa.

Georgia Stewart wrote: “When I am with a patient, the patient is all that matters. I am privileged to spend the time with someone, one on one, who truly needs and appreciates the care I provide.”

The annual awards recognize compassionate care across Massachusetts and honor health care workers who provide exceptional service to their patients and families. This is the third consecutive year that at least 40% of the winners were from Care Dimensions.
