How can we help?
Care Dimensions, the largest hospice and palliative care provider in Massachusetts, will premiere a virtual “Welcome Home” ceremony to honor veterans of the Vietnam War era in recognition of Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29. The video features State Commander Doug Wood of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Massachusetts, who talks about the importance of the day. The video also includes Care Dimensions staff and volunteers.
“While we look forward to once again having in-person gatherings to honor our veterans in the near future, this virtual ceremony is one way we can say thank you and “Welcome Home” to those veterans who did not receive the greeting they deserved,” said President and CEO Patricia Ahern, RN, MBA, FACHE. “We thank all veterans for their sacrifice and service to our country and honoring our nation’s veterans includes supporting them throughout their entire lives.”
The video is available for viewing after noon on Tuesday, March 29 at CareDimensions.org/Vietnam2022 and as a Facebook Video Premiere event at https://www.facebook.com/CareDimensions/. It can be viewed any time after the premiere on the website.
As a Level 5 partner in the We Honor Veterans (WHV) program, Care Dimensions developed and produced the ceremony to recognize and address the needs of veterans. The WHV program was created by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to increase access to hospice care for veterans and to promote education and best practices for providing end-of-life care to veterans. Introduced in 2019, Level 5 is the highest level WHV partners can attain and includes yearly recertification and an added emphasis on serving the needs of Vietnam era veterans.
Please help us honor the Vietnam veterans in our community by sharing this information with your contacts who are veterans of the Vietnam War era and their families.
