Lincoln, Mass. – On Tuesday, September 27, Care Dimensions held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Greater Boston Hospice House, which will be located on Winter Street on the Waltham/Lincoln line. Care Dimensions’ Board of Directors, Lincoln and Waltham representatives, donors, staff and members of the community attended the event. Scheduled to be completed in November of 2017, the new Hospice House will feature 18 private patient suites, including two state-of-the-art pediatric suites. This Greater Boston Hospice House is not a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation facility, but a home-like setting where hospice physicians, nurses and support staff provide hospital-level 24-hour care, and where visiting family members can spend quality time, including overnight stays, with their loved one. “The need for this level of care for terminally ill patients is real and growing. Last year, Care Dimensions cared for more than 1300 patients living within 15 miles of this site,” Care Dimensions President Diane Stringer said in her opening remarks.

In 2011, Care Dimensions expanded its service area with the acquisition of Partners Hospice to the MetroWest and Greater Boston area.  Care Dimensions operates the 11-year old Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, which was the first licensed inpatient hospice facility of its kind in Massachusetts.
